The WESTMORES OF HOLLYWOOD 1972
Book cover art was the bread & butter job for a lot of us illustrators at that time. Nowadays, it is a specialization. If I did 100 covers, at least 50 would be about the Entertainment Business. This cover is for a wonderfully informative book about wigmaker William Westmore and his six boys, each of whom headed the makeup departments of every major studio in Hollywood, at one time or another. I show a starlet being created, along with Westmore clients Gable, Monroe, Valentino, and Fredric March as Mr. Hyde. –David Byrd
