This became the central drawing for the centerpiece of the “Tommy at the Met” poster, printed black on silver. I think the poster is only half-successful as the imagery is too small and fussy to be effective. (I should not have stacked all the type down the center.) Also, I vividly remember having only one weekend to design & create it (i.e.: 2 days). Lack of Time Is No Excuse, but sometimes it just is (at least for us who are gifted but not geniuses). This guy shows up in the centerpiece of the final poster, a sketch of which appears as the next image.
