MEMOIR 1978
This was a touching two-person play about the final year of Sarah Bernhardt’s life, alone with her butler in a villa by the sea. The portrait of the Ancient Thespian is correct, but I must apologize to art historians that Sarah’s sunset reverie is not one of Mucha’s many portraits of her. But, it is a Mucha; I just preferred that (Benedictine) woman in that pose for Bernhardt’s reverie of youth. The white area below is for credits.
Traditional watercolor and colored pencil on rag board.
